Movies: The 2009 year had a great box-office, with many hits that kids would love to own. "Transformers 2," "Twilight," "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince" are just a few titles to get you thinking.
"Up," "Hannah Montana: The Movie," and "The Race to Witch Mountain" also had rave reviews.
Movies are a great family gift, since all children in a family will enjoy it.
It can be very economical to give a movie to a family rather than individual gifts!
Books: In this technologically-driven age, books are a rare gift. Kids still love to read, but chances are, they don't own very many books.
While libraries are great for supplying books to kids, giving them a book encourages them to read and pursue an academic life. Not sure where to start with books? The Newberry Award winners are typically great reads, as are ALA notable books.
The New York Times also puts out a list of top-selling Young Adult and Junior Fiction books.
Your library should have these lists on hand to guide you.
Transformers: The Transformer toys are back and more creative than ever.
Some Transformers can change into many different things.
The most popular ones right now are Optimus Prime and BumbleBee.
Both Transformer movies have been hits, so the kids don't have them yet, chances are they might want to own them.
American Girl Dolls: The American Girl series is still very popular among young girls. The repertoire of American Girl items has increased to include movies, like "Kit Kittredge: An American Girl," which came out last year before Christmas.
Girls can get American Girl dolls that are created to look just like them, or choose from the selection of American Girl Dolls from the series.
Girls love to get Christmas dresses for their doll, and American Girl even offers matching Christmas dresses for the girls to wear themselves.
You can sign up for the American Girl catalog online, which girls love to look through and can help you get an idea for what your little American girl might want!
Dress up clothes: Dress up clothes are great for both boys and girls! Boys aren't interested in the princess costumes like girls are, but they enjoy dressing up like firefighters, lions, and ninjas.
Dress up clothes encourage imagination and creative play, and are one of those toys that don't get "old.
" Many home-school organizations use dress ups to teach about other cultures and for free play time.
Girls love to wear princess costumes, and dance around.
If you decide to get dress up clothes as a Christmas gift, don't forget the accessories! Girls need feather boas for their princess costumes and boys need toy guns for their cowboy costumes!
Bicycles: These two-wheeled classics are still around and begging for attention. These are one of those semi-responsible gifts, since many children use a bicycle as a means of transportation to school and around town. Besides, what child isn't excited to find a bike under the tree on Christmas morning?!
Wii: The Wii and accompanying Wii games are still top hits this Christmas. With Karaoke, the Wii Fit, Hannah Montana, and sword fighting, Wii has something for everyone.
Rockband is also very popular with the teenage crowd, since it allows them to follow their love for music in a game they can play with their friends.

Successful Skills For Life Programs in the Construction Industry
10 years ago the construction industry introduced CSCS as a form of self regulation principally aimed at reducing accidents on site.
All workers are required to hold a CSCS card commensurate with their level of skills which needs to be renewed on a regular basis.
A requirement of the CSCS cards is the touch screen Health & Safety Test, which must be passed in English, using the computer to satisfy contractor's health and safety policies.
Today, the CSCS card is mandatory on most constructions sites run by the major contractors and has become the 'passport to work' for many construction workers. By embedding the CSCS test into the Skills for Life learning, Learning and Skills Solutions (LaSS) have seen extremely positive results. Adrian Bouckley, Director of Training for LaSS explains; "The CSCS test can be a frustrating bridge to cross for thousands of construction workers, as well as costing the worker money, poor literacy, language and computer skills can make it difficult to pass the test.
Our skills for life program quickly bridges this gap, and provides the learner with a nationally recognized qualification. We also fund the CSCS card and test, which takes a bit more pressure off the learner".
In fact, the skills for life benefits reach much further than just aiding CSCS carding. In so many cases by improving basic literacy and numeracy skills LaSS sees improved motivation from the learner. Often people complete the courses and see the benefits of developing their skills and look for other ways to become more qualified.
Skills for life can create the initial motivator to do so.
LaSS is accredited to deliver construction NVQ's and refers many of its learners onto these courses after Skills for life.
Donna Hamblion, Tutor Manager comments "In one instance I heard back from one of our first learners who said that the Skills for Life course opened up so many doors to him that he continued learning and is now studying for a degree".
Historically it has been very difficult to deliver Skills for Life training with construction workers despite there being a real need to raise the standards of literacy/numeracy and language.
As migrant labour has become more and more prevalent within the industry Health and Safety issues have been raised to a critical level.
Attendance at college for evening classes has until recently been the only avenue available to construction workers and this environment is normally unattractive to a typical construction worker.
Recognizing the need to raise basic skills and also the importance of Health and Safety in the workplace LaSS have adopted the model of embedding the training as part of the preparation for the CSCS Health and Safety Test.
This training is normally delivered on site, to ensure minimal disruption to the working day.

Power Leveling In Diablo III
Discovering the best power leveling techniques in Diablo III is one thing that enables a lot of gamers have the most fun with the game as they can. Gamers who use these strategies reduce the amount of time they spend at the boring lower levels and learn to supercharge their characters to the highest level.
This is where Diablo III gets exciting, with intricate arrays of skills and powers, thrilling adversaries, and magnificent rewards are aplenty.
The most effective strategies can be discovered easily with only the best, high quality Diablo III guides. The basis of just about every power leveling strategy for Diablo III is discovering the activities that produce the greatest return of experience for the time spent for any given class or level.
Basically, if grinding (killing monsters repeatedly) will provide a character 500 experience per hour, performing arbitrary quests will provide that same character 800 experience per hour, and carrying out a particular set of quests will deliver you 1,000 XP per hour, the latter choice is the quickest and most desired alternative.
In Diablo II grinding was pretty much the only way to power level.
However, with the new revamped and redevelopment of Diablo III, grinding is no longer an efficient method to gain more experience and level up faster. Gamers are better off now performing random quests, although a centered, specific approach produces a lot more rewards in terms of experience.
This is certainly an excellent design choice by Blizzard, in fact, most of the game is invested at the intermediate levels, and it truly is a lot more interesting for the gamer when they can do a variety of things and earn exciting prizes in the process instead of simply beating the identical group of adversaries constantly. Nevertheless, it certainly does make power leveling much more challenging.
Although you could figure out the appropriate sequence of quests to take to be able to speed level from level 1 to level 60 on your own, it would probably take a long time. The whole point of power leveling is not to waste time, but to get to the maximum level as fast as possible.
A better solution to power leveling is to take advantage of more experienced players' knowledge. There are a number of Diablo III guides available online that can provide gamers with an in-depth, structured, quick, and dynamic path to the highest levels in the game, while earning tons of gold and gear on the way.

5 Best Free Games for iPad: Confessions of a Gameaholic
An iPad has become a wonderful gaming platform leaving other consoles merely toys.
To tell you the truth, I have become a gamaholic with the release of Apple's tablet computer. This gadget has even changed my daily routine.
I used to get up early in the morning, check my email and spend half an hour reading news, hot stories and preparing for my classes.
And now I start my morning searching for the new games for iPad.
I launch the App Store and run through game reviews to download another free app or game and test it before sharing it with my friends.
This device has become an iconic for many people. It quickly replaces popular gaming consoles since more and more developers create iOS games that are not only cool and fun to play but also free to get. Here are the best free games for iPad that I cannot stop playing. They are very addictive.
1.

You score by following the notes highlighted on your screen.
The music is amazing, no matter how quick or slow you are.

It is Beethoven's Fur Elise.
But you can unlock other tunes by scoring and spending your points on the new unlocks.

It's one of the best iOS games ever developed.
The Rio version of Angry Birds includes 12 cool levels.

The Difference Between a Teaching Moment and Letting Your Child Down
Recently I had a meeting with two colleagues who, like me, are both mothers. One was distracted as we started because she had gotten a text from her high school age son that he had left his keys on the bus.
How would he get into the apartment? She had an appointment for a haircut after her work, a rare time set aside just for her. By the time we met, she had figured out that he could wait for her in the library nearby, a reasonable option.
All the same, she was rattled. It was unnerving that even though he's in high school, he would lose his keys. This triggered a brief discussion about how much parents should alter their lives to help children to avoid stressful experiences.
We shared the annoyance of being our children's executive function, the one who organizes stuff and time.
I assure you that we did this with love.
We also wondered when to decide that external support robs children of opportunity to manage on their own, and thus feel proud and independent. This question is particularly tricky for parents of children with ADHD, Asperger Syndrome or learning disabilities.
These children all have deficits in executive function.
They have difficulty keeping track of stuff; they have difficulty managing time. They are easily overwhelmed by unforeseen complications (especially those they bring on themselves). So, when do you provide the support, and when do you pull back? Well, it depends -- on your child, his readiness and how much stress he can handle at that point. Homework Many parents check their children's homework over and ask them to correct any wrong answers.
Parents do this with good intentions, but I always advise them to let children hand in the homework as is. How will teachers know whether the child has learned the material? It is not a parent's job to teach new material, so if your child doesn't know the math after school, the teacher needs to know that.
It doesn't mean that your child is bad - likely he just needs more help or an accommodation in teaching style.
A good teacher will know that. It is useful for parents to go over the assignment notebook with a child to see what homework there is and consider when and how it will get done.
This is a problem-solving kind of talk, not a blame game.
If you check the assignment notebook, you know whether your child is using it.
If you know what the homework is, you can ask intelligently whether it is done.
A parent's job is to provide a space and time for homework and check to see that it is done (not done right). In this talk you can discuss timing.
How much time does your child think the math work sheet will take? It's helpful for children to give an estimate and then see whether they were realistic. This is not a blaming concern.
This is gathering data.
"Oh, I see that it took 45 minutes instead of 20 minutes.
That's good to know.
" It might mean that there is no time for a TV show before bedtime.
That might be disappointing, but this is another time when it would be good not to protect your child from the realities of life. It's a "teaching moment.
" You can simply say with optimism, "So, tomorrow, you'll know to start sooner, and then you can watch TV.
" You might want to discuss timing just to coordinate family activities. Like will there be time to get to the library for the book he needs after the soccer practice? Stuff This is one that really gets parents and children upset.
Clothing, books, backpacks, permission slips.
So many things to keep track of.
The parents' job is to assist a child with putting systems in place that help organize stuff.
So, you might set up a coat closet with hooks for his or her jacket, a bin for hats and mittens and a bin for shoes, boots and so forth. You might say that the last step of homework is to pack up the back pack for the next day and place it by the door.
No TV until that is done.
Children with executive function deficits need adults to help them with systems. Then they need to use them.
You can help by nagging less and praising more when you see a system in use. Even with the best systems in place there will be problems.
For instance, you get back from the bus stop and see the permission slip, the book report, whatever on the kitchen counter.
Do you go to work late and run the item by the school? Again, it depends.
Perhaps you simply do not have that option.
Then your child has a "teaching moment" about packing his backpack.
No need for blame - just a reminder to get everything in.
If you do have the option to take the item to school, it's a more difficult decision.
I would say that if your child is already very stressed about other things, it would be a kind move to take the item to school if not having it would really be a problem for him.
However, if he can just as well take it in the next day, and it won't totally ruin his day, let him take it a day late.
It's a "teaching moment.
" As your child gets more proficient at using the systems, you can pull back on your prompts and reminders little by little.
Stay tuned in to your own needs.
Are you doing so much for him that you resent your efforts? If so, what can you do to simplify your efforts or your expectations? Do you feel guilty when he forgets something or do you see it as a "teaching moment" for him? Helping with structure is not the same as taking the responsibility. If you allow some "teaching moments," it is more clear to your child where the responsibility lies. By the way, at the end of our meeting, my colleague got another text, "Found the keys!"

Finding A Good Rate For A Children's Allowance
The homes of today are vastly different from each other, as much as they are from homes thirty or forty years ago.
There are different parents, children, jobs and pets that all live under the same roof and must get along.
There must be rules for a safe and happy household. Deciding on a children's allowance is a choice that must be determined by the adults in the home and comes down to what is affordable and what jobs the children can do to make the money.
Children watch their parents and observe the behavior of the adults they live with.
If they see lazy or distant adults, they are probably not going to be easy to train.
They must be taught responsibility before they have to venture out and do things on their own.
Parents sometimes see this, not as a reflection of their own behavior, but as a sign that they have bad children. It is wise for an adult in this situation to teach the children responsibility by being responsible and active, as well.
They cannot be expected to know everything when they are very young.
Parents are there to give the children not just love but also direction. Most parents can think up simple household chores for the children to do as methods of showing the child what they may have to do when they become an adult.
Children must learn to be responsible for their actions.
Knowing they will be rewarded for being on their best behavior and for accomplishing tasks are good things for young people to learn.
Various chores that children perform for an allowance are sweeping floors, mowing the lawn or doing dishes. These are just everyday simple chores that can be done by anyone but they are new things to children.
Doing chores for an allowance does not have to be made into a huge job for kids. Parents should find a way to make the tasks enjoyable so that the children will not resent the work but will relish in their accomplishments and look forward to doing their daily chores because they know they will be rewarded with a children's allowance.

Discussing Teenagers and Social Networking
The Internet has always shown us new ways to connect and share.
What started out as a research project aimed at academicians has now transformed in to a life tool itself.
From simple text based emails to multicast video sessions, the internet has come a long way since its inception in 1970.
Once such revolution brought about by the internet is that of the social networking websites.
A survey found that in the year 2010 Facebook received more number of hits than any other website on the internet, even outranking Google.
There are more than a billion active registered users on social networking sites.
Even though the total membership is more than a billion, the actual driving force behind the success of social media comes from teenagers.
Teenagers are quick to master new concepts and they have certainly grasped this new concept. While adults may use social networking for simple communication purposes, teenagers use it for a whole lot of different activities.
Today we will talk about the impact of social media on teenagers.
Every coin has two sides and the same goes for any new technology, it has a good side to it and then there is a dark side.
Even though the claimed objective of social networking is to facilitate communication, it has come under the scanner for its potential misuse. It has been widely reported and clinically proved that people who spend more time on social networking websites are more likely to be depressed. We all are aware that teenage years are the most confusing years in an individual's life.
Without a mature state of mind it is perhaps easier for teenagers to confuse the digital world of social networking with the real world that they live in and when this illusion of digital world breaks, it might get difficult for a teenage mind to confront the reality.
Another dark aspect of social networking is that of false representation.
The Internet is a digital world and you can be anyone who you want to be.
The problem comes when this false representation takes you away from your true identity. Teenage years are the time when one searches for his identity.
In pursuit of popularity and acceptance a teenager can easily fall in this trap of false representation, such activities are destined to drive the teenagers in to a world of fantasy and illusion and will hinder the true identities and spirits.
This concept of false representation does provides some sense of acceptance but when teenagers are confronted with reality they often find themselves lonely, unwanted and depressed. Cyber bullying is another inherent attribute of social networking. While adults may consider it a bit overrated, the truth is that cyber bullying on social networks is a harsh reality.
The trauma of cyber bullying is colossal as it can involve thousands of participants within a short period of time. Social networks are designed in such a way so as to propagate a trending story or post, this propagation can take the bullying to a whole new level.
While it is a rarely seen behavior in adults, it is quite common in teenagers.
Perhaps the most dangerous of all evils of social networking is that leaves the teenagers exposed to sexual predators.
It becomes much easier for a sexual predator to lure in teenagers on a social network, with a not so mature mind and an eager and curious behavior we cannot really blame teenagers for being the victims. There have been many widely reported cases where sexual predators made use of social media platforms for luring in their victims. Considering all these negatives, one might get an impression that nothing good can come out of social networking, but as I said in the beginning, every coin has two sides and so there is a sunnier side to it too. Our world is changing rapidly and it is only obvious that in such a fast changing world, no one is going to support censorship of any kind.
Perhaps censoring itself takes the internet a step backwards.
In the absence of censorship and control, the sense of awareness and responsibilities are the only two things can lead to a healthier social networking experience of teenagers.

Love of Reading: Tips on How to Cultivate It in Children
How many times have you encountered students who "hated" to read--who apparently had to be forced to read by any of various means of coercion or threat? Have you ever noticed instances where one of those very children had once (at an earlier age) eagerly engaged reading material, driven by a native passion to discover and grow? What are some of the key factors that promote or inhibit a love of reading?
Work at each student's ability level and incrementally build it up from there
For some, the response to the demand that students know more is to put increasingly sophisticated material earlier and earlier into the school curriculum.
They reason that if a student has trouble when algebra is introduced (as an example) in the 7th grade, then the solution is to introduce algebra starting in the 2nd grade and to let it somehow "seep in through the pores of the skin" as the student moves forward. In reality, higher levels of mathematics are understood to the degree that every one of the steps below them have been thoroughly mastered.
It may seem rewarding to say that a young student read a sophisticated work of literature, but if the student hated the whole process and didn't understand any of it (as it was over their head), then there truly is no victory worth celebrating. You have to give children books at a level that they can read with success. This doesn't mean coddling children into reading only simple books. The point is certainly to move them up into higher levels, but to do so by moving them along at an incremental progression that promotes genuine progress.
If you were a weight trainer, would you continually insist that a student lift 200 pounds of weight when he couldn't even lift 100 pounds? Then, when the student continued to fail and suffer and experience heavy strain at the level of 200 pounds, would you respond by giving them special strategy sessions or coping sessions or...
? Clearly, it would be much more effective to move the student to a lower level of weight and to vigorously train them upwards from there. By forcing students to read books above their level, you lock them into a losing situation and promote distaste for reading. Work with a student's natural interests I have often resolved student resistance to reading by working with the child's natural interests.
I don't ask a resistant reader, "What are you interested in reading?" The answer will likely be "nothing.
" Instead, through routine conversation and interaction, I find out the child's interests. I then find books at an appropriate level on those specific topics.
I don't make it an academic exercise.
I don't even necessarily announce that we're going to read.
I simply start sharing some "cool" information about bugs or skateboards or karate or rocket ships (or whatever interests the student) that happens to be in a particular book.
I don't portray reading as a dull exercise; reading is the medium for some very interesting communication.
Particularly in the beginning, I may have to do more of the reading (while the student follows along).
As the student gets more engaged, they begin to read more.
All the while, I participate in animated conversation with the student about the content of what we're reading.
My interest is real. The scene looks less like a teacher teaching a student how to read than it looks like two people excitedly talking about a great movie they've seen. All the while, the student's ability and desire to read are improving. Shouldn't the student be reading only the finest literature? One certainly wants a student to read fine literature, but let's first put the emphasis on creating interest and ability in the area of reading. Then, with an increasing amount of capital of interest and willingness, it becomes much easier to progressively stretch the student into different genres and types of reading material. Think of these two choices: (1) You do battle with a student by trying to force them to read three particular classic books, with heavy resistance, very slow progress, and a crushed interest in reading; (2) By aligning with a student's interests, you ignite an interest in reading such that they avidly read scores of books (and some of them are classics). Start by making a reader rather than immediately trying to make a literary critic Here's an analogy. Suppose a teacher/mentor is trying to get you interested and skilled in carpentry, which is a relatively new area of endeavor for you. The teacher begins by taking you through the process of constructing a simple box.
Suppose you work for 10 minutes cutting the sides of the box and then the teacher stops for a discussion on types of saws: hand saw, rip saw, hacksaw, circular saw, table saw, radial arm saw, miter saw, rotary saw, concrete saw, and so on. You start to hammer sides together and a few minutes into that the teacher has you do an analysis of types of hammers and their uses: claw hammer, ball pein, cross pein, club hammer, sledge hammer, mallet, and so on.
Suppose your work continues to get frequently interrupted with exercises such as a dissection of types of boxes and their uses, types of sandpaper, famous carpenters, and on down the list.
Would this process most likely result in you developing a keen sense of discernment, judgment, creativity, and skill in the art of carpentry or might it more likely tend to blunt your interest in the subject? What happens if we heavily push students into literary analysis and critique before they have (a) mastered reading with high fluency; (b) mastered reading with high comprehension; (c) read many works from many different authors in a variety of different styles; and (d) developed their natural passion for reading? Before these points have been achieved, to what degree should students be made to dissect written work: protagonist, antagonist, plot, setting, theme, simile, metaphor, allusion, alliteration, hyperbole, personification, foreshadowing, genre.

? How much of this will be acquired naturally by students if they are allowed to develop into skilled and experienced readers? Writing is an art form.
Reading involves an experience of this form of art.
It involves communication.
When a person attends a concert, do they typically analyze each bar of music as it passes along? A person with a high level of knowledge, skill and experience in a field will tend to have good judgment and analytical thinking in that field.
That's desirable. However, these desirable abilities aren't necessarily nurtured by trying to make a literary critic before one has made an excellent reader who enjoys reading.
One doesn't cultivate a love of reading by making reading into a testing process.
On the other hand, when we develop skilled and eager readers by aligning to their level and to their interests, such students (as it turns out) tend to do well on the language arts portions of standardized tests.
Encourage and cultivate reading for understanding Think of a time when you were completely absorbed by some material that you were reading. With that material, were you merely skimming and using rote memorization without really grasping it, or was genuine understanding taking place? In some cases, actual reading has been supplanted with shallow substitutes.
Reading has at times become getting "vague impressions" or "guessing" or skimming through and trying to isolate a few bullet points. Such activities can often serve to help a student to pass an immediate test, only to lose the information a few weeks (or even a day) later.
Undigested information goes in and is subsequently spit out; goes in, gets spit out; goes in, gets spit out.
.
.the majority of it ultimately washed away.
When students "read" in this fashion throughout their many years of schooling, they can be given a false sense of security. After all, they are passing the tests. They appear to be winning in the system. One day, however, they will have to walk into the "real" world.
In the "real" world, genuine understanding is required in order to be highly effective.
In working with students, promote reading with understanding. Promote reading where a real connection and real communication are taking place.
Further, promote taking the understandings gained from written material and applying them to produce desired results.
Set an example Setting an example means openly enjoying reading yourself.
Reading should not be conveyed to children as a sort of punishment that one must endure; it should be naturally conveyed as an enjoyable and desirable communication medium that opens up a world of knowledge, imagination, and entertainment.
One adult who sets an outstanding example of cultivating a love of reading (by employing strategies that work, even if they may not always be considered traditional) is nationally acclaimed sixth-grade language arts teacher Donalyn Miller.
Year after year she has consistently made students into avid readers, with her students typically reading upwards of 40 books in a school year.
It seems that her classroom has been transformed into a cozy and inviting library, where students are able to exert some choice in the books they select and where reading is given top priority (not book reports and worksheets). [To find out more about Donalyn Miller and her strategies, go to BookWhisperer.

Reading is a vital avenue in that process.

Three Benefits to a Masters in Education Online Program
1.
Programs are Eligible for Federal Financial Student Aid Now that the majority of universities offer a distance option for adult students who need added flexibility, online programs have finally gained the respect they deserve.
The same money that was available when you were a new high school graduate is available today while you go after your masters in education online.
If you've maxed out your federal student loan limit, a quality school can help you with alternative lending programs.
Fair payment plans, private lenders and scholarships can help meet your financial obligations. You may also be able to consolidate your existing student loans into a new one in order to continue your education.
2. Certain Teaching Professions Offer Forgivable Lending If, upon completion of your masters in education online, you may be eligible to have a portion or all of your current loan balance erased.
Getting certified in certain high need areas, or getting a job in locations where there is a shortage of qualified teachers is the key to this. Your state department of education should be able to help you identify these lending opportunities as they become available.
This is true whether you've gotten your masters traditionally or through a distance education program.
3.
Online Programs Allow for Group Settings & In-Class Student Teaching Many people assume that a masters in education online consist solely of independent study. This couldn't be further from the truth.
Reputable programs have both solo and team work sessions, giving you a leg up in networking when it's time to enter the work force.
These opportunities also allow you to learn from others' work experience, as well as share your own.
In addition to this, online programs have opportunities for student teaching in a traditional setting.
Your academic adviser can help set up contracts in your area, giving you a typical student teaching placement. You build the same contacts in your district with a masters in education online as you do a program at a local brick-and-mortar institution.
The benefits to online studies can be varied, and surprising. Don't let the newness of new styles of study run you off. These days, distance programs closely mimic traditional ones in teaching method, quality of instruction and networking and hiring possibilities.
If you've been letting a limited education hold you back, switch gears, research your options and get involved in a masters in education online program today.

Webkinz Holiday Recipes
Do you plan on doing something special for your Webkinz this holiday season? I did.
I got my kids to sit around the computer with me one morning and told them that their Webkinz were going to have a big Christmas Eve Party. Next I got a Christmas tree and gathered all of their Webkinz together into one room with plans of making them some holiday food. But to my surprise there really aren't any Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa Webkinz Recipes. I was surprised because on Halloween, I treated my Webkinz to Halloweenog. I think for Christmas, I'm going to have to improvise.
Maybe I could start with something like Hot Cocoa.
That's a festive holiday drink.
But since I was set on making Webkinz Recipes maybe there was a Cocoa like recipe that I could try. I took a quick look at a list of recipes that I've been meaning to try and saw Hot Marshmallow. It's made with Marshmallows, Milk and a Chocolate Bar in the blender.
Sounds like fancy hot cocoa to me.
We went to the W. Shop and bought 5 Marshmallows, 5 Milks and 5 Chocolate Bars so we could make Hot Marshmallow for each Webkinz.
After my daughter clicked the blend button we saw that Hot Marshmallow looked more like a big meatloaf than a festive holiday drink.
But everyone was happy when we fed it to the Webkinz and they said it was Mmmmm to to max! Dead set on serving hot chocolaty drink, I tried again. Ah-ha, I found a recipe for Trippple Hot Chocolate.
With three P's it's got to be good. So we loaded the blender with Chocolate Milk, Hot Cocoa and a Chocolate Bar.
Yes, Trippple Hot Chocolate was perfect.
Now that the Webkinz had a hot drink, it was time for a hot meal.
Zazzeloop Soup is pretty festive looking with it's little Christmas trees on top so we ran out to the W.
Shop again to buy some Pizza, Lollipops and Tomato Soup.
Zazzeloop Soup is a stove/grill/cauldron recipe but we decided to use the stove. Voila, Zazzeloop Soup! Now we were on a roll.
Most of the Webkinz' Hunger Meters were way up in the 90s.
I think I even saw a few of them loosen their belts. Well, not really but I told the kids that anyway. After watching a little Chef Gazpacho on the flat screen we decided the party was over.
We had a real holiday get together with the kids' Grandma in a few hours so it was time to start getting ready.
We walked each of the Webkinz back to their rooms and put them to bed.
Our little holiday party made the Webkinz Happy, Healthy and maxed out their Hunger Meters. And I think that if my kids had Happy Meters, they would have been maxed out too.

History of Lego Star Wars
Lego Star Wars has quite the interesting history when it comes to the fact that the game entertains children everywhere.
It all stems from the popular plastic building blocks that can be used to build cars, space ships, buildings, and whatever a child's imagination can think up. Anyone under the age of 60 has most likely played with Legos, so that means that many of the children playing with them today have grandparents who once used their imaginations to do the same exact thing.
The Lego saga began in 1932 in Billund, Denmark, where a carpenter by the name of Ole Kirk Kristiansen began a new business that made wooden toys, stepladders, and ironing boards.
What no one realized at that time was that Legos had been born.
It was in 1934 that Kristiansen created the name Lego, which is derived from "leg godt," which are the Danish words for "play well.
" However, in Latin, the word Lego means "I put together." Unfortunately in 1942, the plant burned down and Kristiansen had to rebuild, but just two years later, Kristiansen's plant purchased an injection molding machine that created plastic toys, but he was yet to invent the building blocks.
It was in 1949 that the Automatic Binding Brick was introduced for sale only in Denmark and looked like a tiny plastic brick with eight or four studs. However, by 1950 the Lego accounted for half of the company's business.
From then on, the Lego began spreading around the world and through the years had developed various themes such as sets that focused just on building cars or on just building buildings. The possibilities were endless. However, the Legos of today are much different than the Legos both we and our parents played with.
Our children are playing with Lego theme parks, there are Lego themed movies, and there are even Lego themed video games that are based off of particular toy lines created by Lego.
One of those toy lines is Lego Star Wars, which later led to the Lego Star Wars video game. The video game was first released in 2005 and is based during the prequel trilogy to the actual Star Wars Trilogy that began in the late 1970's and early 1980's. However, the game was actually released a month before the last of the Star Wars films was released.
It was developed by LucasArts and Eidos Interactive for the Sony PlayStation2, the Microsoft Xbox, and for personal computers running the Microsoft Windows Operating System.
It was also developed for Nintendo's Game Boy Advance.
In August 2005, A Mac port was developed for the game to be played on Mac computers and in October 2005, a version was released for the Nintendo GameCube.
Lego Star Wars received the Kidsworld.
com award of Game of the Year and received very good reviews.
In May 2005, it even peaked at the top of the charts in the UK to eventually lose its prominent spot to the Episode III game that was later released.
However, its position as a top game for kids remained high for quite some time.
In September 2006, Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy was released and a year later was followed by a prequel game released in November 2007 called, Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga. Some deem the Lego Star Wars video games as the coolest games in history and they consistently receive ratings between 4 and 5 stars out of a possible 5 stars on many gaming websites. The games are great for children and are a great way for the Lego legacy to live on through the electronic world.

Preventing Injuries in Young Athletes
There are an estimated 60 million children ages 6-18 that participate in some form of organized athletics, with 44 million participating in more than one sport. In a society where many children are addicted to technology such as cell phones, video games, TVs, etc.
, it is great to hear that athletics are still a way of life for millions of kids.
Not only do sports teach physical skills, they also teach skills such as teamwork, leadership, and strategic thinking.
Despite the many benefits of playing sports, there are some risks.
Estimates show 3.5 million children aged 14 and under receive medical treatment for sport-related injuries, while high-school athletes account for another 2 million a year.
According to the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases the most common sport injuries are due to accidents, poor training practices (such as overtraining) or using the wrong gear or equipment.
The good news is that many of these injuries can be prevented.
Below are seven tips to help prevent injuries in your young athlete: 1. Play Safe - probably the most obvious one is to teach your young athlete how to play a sport safely. This includes teaching proper technique (such as diving for a ball) and wearing proper equipment. 2.
Allow time for recovery - make sure your young athlete has a rest day so that their muscles can repair, rebuild and strengthen.
Rest days can also help maintain a better balance between home, school and sports.
3.
Take breaks - along the same lines of taking a rest day, make sure your young athlete gets rest during practice and play.
Taking breaks will reduce the likelihood of both injury and heat illness.
4. Don't "push through the pain" - If a young athlete is complaining of pain it is best to have them sit out a game or practice instead of letting them play and making it worse.
Parents also need to be watching their young athlete for any signs of pain because they may not tell you about it.
Watch for a change in their movement (limping), or wincing when making certain movements.
5.
Build Strength -Resistance training has been shown to increase both muscular strength and bone strength which will in turn decrease their chances of injury. 6.
Increase Flexibility - The International Youth Conditioning Association (IYCA) defines flexibility as: "the ability to produce and reproduce efficient static and dynamic movements at speed over an optimal pain-free range of motion." In basic terms, flexibility is the "freedom to move." If a young athlete's ability to move freely is compromised, the likely outcome will be inefficient movement, decreased athletic performance and injury.
7.
Enforce an "off-season" - Young athletes who play sports year-round are more likely than others to experience overuse injuries because they aren't giving their bodies a chance to rest and recover.
Encourage your athletes to take at least three months off of a particular sport each year. Have them mix it up and play different sports during the year so that the same muscle groups are not being used continuously, leading to overuse injuries.
Overtraining is one of the most common causes of sports-related injuries. According to sports medicine researchers at the Loyola University Medical Center young athletes should not spend more hours than their age in training during a given week. Those who did not follow this recommendation were 70% more likely to incur serious overuse injuries than other types of injuries. If an athlete does experience pain or other symptoms that might indicate an injury, seek medical attention immediately.

Help Kids Grow Tall Effectively
Maria Sharapova, Mandy Moore, Yao Ming, Michelle Obama-what do these famous people have in common? Besides the fact that they are, indeed, successful individuals in their fields, they are obviously known for their tall, dignified, yes, heights! Is It Time to Consider a Logo Redesign?
Some of the biggest companies around the world have used logo redesign services to keep their designs current.
Over time your design can become outdated, it may not show what your business does or the size of your business or it may just be a cheap design that you used when you first opened and it's now time to improve on that.
In most cases a company will choose to use logo redesign services when their design doesn't relate to their business anymore. When you started your business you may have concentrated on one type of product, over time you expand your range, changing your business.
It is confusing for customers to relate a picture on a logo to the other products you sell, therefore while the name stays the same, it's important to change the design to represent the business and what you do.
Your design should show professionalism and relevancy.
This means that the logo you designed when you started your business using clip art, probably doesn't give your customers the best impression. Your design is one of the most important visibility tools you have.
It should relate to the type of business you do.
Customers are more inclined to remember your design than they are your name, in some cases. Before you start using logo redesign services to update your design, it's important to take your business and your goals into consideration.
If you are looking at expanding into different avenues in the next few years, take this into consideration.
Most companies work to a business plan which will point you in the direction you want the business to grow, it's essential your new design incorporates these future goals, ensuring you don't have to make changes again in a years' time.
In some cases you may feel your design not good in the past and while your business has grown and progressed, your logo has been left. This is often with some of the largest companies in the world that have had to redesign their logo to keep up with current trends.
Companies often change their designs over the years. When looking at their first design compared to their current one, you can see distinct similarities.
What this has shown is that you should make your changes drastic.
You should try to join some of the original design into the new one, this ensures customers are not completely confused and think they are dealing with a completely different business that just happens to have the same name.
Ensure you choose a good designer to help you.
Let them make some suggestions based on current trends which you can consider and see which ones you feel comfortable with.
Designers take your business, customers and plans and along with your current design come up with something that will appeal to everyone. Many companies worry that if they change their logo they will lose customers, this is not the case, as long as you don't offer a completely different design. A good example would be a catering company that started out as a cupcake company, such as. They may have a cupcake as their design and now customers are struggling to associate catering and a cupcake together.
The new design should merge the cupcake into the finished product, while promoting the catering side of the business.

The Benefits of Attending an Online School
Parents always want to provide their children with the best quality of education.
Because of their many benefits, homeschooling and online school have been trending.
The online school was created to provide students the support of a traditional, residential, school while enrolled in a technology-based home-school academic program.
This dynamic educational experience combines the resources of a traditional academy with the proven elementary and secondary multimedia curriculum structure provided by an online high school.
These online high schools offer online, distance learning to students all over the world.
Student work is then transmitted over the Internet for the academy to grade and record.
All a student needs is access to a computer with an internet connection! Online schools provide a flexible, yet structured program, customized to meet the needs of each student.
Online schools allow students the ability to attend classes, work on projects, and submit their work at any convenient time.
Meaning the students may be logged into the classroom or working at the time that suits them and fits best into their schedule.
Along with the flexible hours, the certified teachers, counselors, and support staff of these online high schools are always available to help their clients succeed in providing a quality education for each student.
They give the students a schedule that outlines what needs to be done along with deadlines for each assignment.
This allows the online student to be prepared ahead of time and if need be, even complete assignments early.
Also, Course material is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In an online high school environment, there is increased student interaction and the diversity of opinion, because everyone gets a say, not just the most talkative.
Participating online is much less intimidating than "in the classroom.
" Anonymity provides students a level playing field undisturbed by bias caused by seating arrangement, gender, race and age. Students can also think longer about what they want to say and add their comments when ready.
In a traditional class room, the conversation could have gone way past the point where the student wants to comment.
The unique thing about an online high school is that online learning enables student-centered teaching approaches.
Every student has their own way of learning that works best for them.
Some learn visually others do better when they "learn by doing.
" These are just some of the benefits of online schools.
Many have subscribed to it, many have not.

You Must Excel in Math
You must excel in math for many reasons.
Math by its very nature is a rigorous subject which conditions the mind to work more efficiently than it otherwise would.
One of the reasons I teach my short-cut arithmetic techniques is so that people who learn them can exercise their brains regularly.
Indeed such exercise not only stimulates the mind, but also helps keep your brain younger and less prone to degenerative diseases and decreased cognitive functioning. And there is no better brain stimulation than that obtained while you navigate within the mathematical disciplines, trying to work and solve problems of myriad levels of difficulty.
Scientific research has shown that mental stimulation not only improves brain function but also fosters the growth of new neurons.
In fact decreased mental function is not just the result of old age or disease but more likely the result of a person's lack of mental exercise.
Just as physical exercise promotes well-being for the body and mind, mental exercise has a direct impact on cognitive functioning.
From a purely empirical viewpoint, this aspect is not hard to fathom: one need only consider the effect that practice has on one's ability to play an instrument.
Virtuosity comes from one's continual plodding of the instrument in question.
From continual practice, the virtuoso is pushing the brain to learn a task that was previously unattainable. Similarly, by doing purely mental calisthenics, one is in effect forcing the brain to create new neural pathways as well as alternative routes along already connected neuronal passageways. To achieve such advantageous benefits, you need only do some mental arithmetic which requires some light mental strain.
Try mastering any of my arithmetic techniques as laid out in my numerous articles or ebooks and performing these mental exercises regularly.
And if you want your children to have huge advantages in life, teach these techniques to them and watch the positive benefits that result--not only in their school work and grades but in their own self-perceptions as well. Remember, if you want to be healthy in mind and body, you must excel in math.

4 Techniques To Avoid Phishing
In this article I am going to describe what to do to avoid the risk of phishing email.
Personal Contacts
The most significant risk to consider are your friends and relatives and associates.
While you may take your responsibilities to protect yourself seriously, your contacts may not hold the same values and priorities.
Helping them to appreciate your own priorities and concerns can go a long way to managing their expectations for how you might respond to their online activities. Ask them not to include you in their mass circulation emails (round robins, latest funnies or heart string stories).
This will help to prepare them for the inevitable if you need to block their address from your inbox if they ignore your request.
As the saying goes, who needs enemies with friends like that? Mass circulation emails are some of the worst for getting your email address about and "skimmed" by online robots for nasty purposes. Curiosity Curiosity killed the cat - and it will snag you as well if you let it.
Curiosity is a basic human nature and is used by many scammers to lure you into opening emails that lead to hell.
These might be strange subject lines, empty subject lines or even sensational subject lines.
Sensational tricks might be "You've just won thousands of pounds but you must claim within the next few minutes or lose it" or offer the chance to view something sexually explicit before it gets deleted. One I saw recently had a subject header suggesting a parcel that had been dispatched to me could not be delivered and would be returned to sender unless I contacted them to provide an alternative delivery address.
I was not expecting any parcel and I had never given that email address to anyone from that part of the world.
It was added as a blocked address to one of my filters and then deleted - unopened.
Make it a policy to treat everything curious, blank or sensational as dangerous and delete it without opening it (or at the very least quarantine it somewhere until you can verify by alternative means) that the email was intended.
Fear Scams The same goes for fear.
Phishing scams love to generate a state of panic in the recipient.
Human nature tends to be less rational when panic sets in. These might use tricks like, your account has gone overdrawn/shut down or been seized/frozen/breached/violated/hacked/infiltrated. They come pretending to be your friend to help you in this disaster they've just alerted you to.
To inflame your state of panic they may even suggest that you have a very limited time to deal with this before your account will be deleted/frozen/seized.
There might be threats like "as you have failed to respond to all previous attempts to contact you and final warnings have been ignored, you will be charged if you do not resolve this outstanding debt before 4pm today".
Another - "Your personal details may have been stolen/illegally accessed - please use the link below to reset your password".
All specifically tailored to panic you into doing something rash like replying to the sender, telling them who you are and handing over personal information (to help them verify who you are - actually to help them steal your identity) and getting you handing over your account details and passwords.
If you receive an email that conjures fear and horror and panic then the first thing to do is distrust it.
What genuine organisation would do business by inspiring fear and panic through unexpected communications? More importantly, you should NEVER, EVER use the email links offered to contact your bank, lender, whoever. Always use the contact details provided by the subscribed organisation (such as the customer contact number on your credit/debit card itself or welcome letter when you first joined) to make contact and verify if the reported threat is real. Copy Cats Another trick (not restricted to email phishing) is to present a web page that looks anywhere from similar - to identical - to the real one but is actually false.
This is trying to lull you into a false sense of security that you are accessing the real thing.
So you bank online and don't know the phone number. This is one that can be protected against by developing certain habits online. Make a habit of comparing the web address in your usual link/favourite with the one along the bottom of the browser window.
If they are different be suspicious.
If you do this as a habit then you will be more likely to notice if it suddenly has changed or looks odd or incomplete or spelt wrong or is a different length.
In the long run these strategies will be more robust than simply changing your email address.
That approach will never help you to become alert to when that next email address becomes the target of a phishing attack. Thanks to your "friends" and contacts it is only a matter of time before you start receiving phishing attacks on that email address as well.

Parenting Today's Teens - Six Stress-Less Tips
Family life with teens can be hectic.
There may be before- and after-school activities, and some teens even have part-time jobs as well. On top of this, the pull of technology reduces face-to-face communication.
The challenge for you as parents is to make the most of the time you do have with your teens-preparing them for adulthood as they morph from "me-ism" into independent, responsible adults-but at the same time minimizing the "stress factor.
" Here are my top-six tips for reducing parental stress and improving communication at home, while at the same time providing your teens with an opportunity to develop some life skills.
1. Don't tell; suggest: Recognize that your children are becoming young adults, and as adults, they will be expected to make decisions on their own, so start preparing them by making suggestions.
When you tell them something, you are saying, "I don't trust you have the ability to decide for yourself.
" Telling teens what to do is often interpreted as your trying to control them, and, in turn, you may experience much resistance to your alleged "demands.
" For example, your teen is getting ready to go out with friends.
It's cloudy outside and you know the weather forecast is for thundershowers.
You can tell them, "Wear your coat and take an umbrella, it's going to rain!" Or you can say, "Looks like it's going to rain.
What are you planning to wear?" The second statement gets them thinking; they assess the situation and can come to a conclusion that is hopefully rational or suitable.
The goal here is to get them thinking.
Remember, we are not born with good judgment. It's a skill that we develop over time, and "suggesting" is an effective way to develop your teens' decision-making skills.
2. Give praise for good efforts: Have you ever noticed how easy it is for us to see our teens' shortcomings and mistakes, and how difficult it is to see their good efforts, their attempts to do things properly? Try your best to pay attention to their good efforts.
One evening I was working late at the office.
My teen daughter called and asked what I wanted for dinner. I was speechless for about five seconds (but pleasantly surprised), then I replied, "Pasta." When I arrived home, she had a hot pasta dinner all ready to eat.
I began to eat and realized she had added about two pounds of salt in the sauce.
I began to cough and had to quickly grab for a glass of water.
Now I could have criticized her for cooking with too much salt, but instead I told her I appreciated her making dinner, and that she had saved me an hour of cooking time, and then I showed her the right amount of salt to use the next time. Try to focus on what your teens are doing right, and acknowledge good efforts. Praising and appreciating your teens goes a long way toward building their self-esteem and motivating them to do even more things right. 3.
Plan a family night: Plan an evening where everyone gets together-either at home or on an outing-and do an activity together, or have a discussion. At my home, our ground rule is that all devices are turned off (TV, computer/laptop, iPod, cell phones/Blackberrys and e-games).
Family night has many benefits: It promotes the art of face-to-face communication (which is fading in our techno-obsessed North American culture); you are creating family memories that will last a long time; and you find common ground with your teens when you play, hang out and talk together. One family night we played monopoly, and during the game we had a discussion about managing money, and whether it's better to buy or rent a home.
We had fun, but it was also a learning opportunity for my three teens.
Another time we played mini-putt and beach volleyball-it was a night of laughter as we had hits and misses and fell in the sand a few times. In the end, family night is about reconnecting, and that is priceless! 4.
Listen to them: Parenting is not just about your expectations of your children; it's also about meeting their needs. Listening is the way to understand teens' needs. They need to know you understand and they are being heard.
I have always found that the best time to "check in" with my teens is right after dinner, because, typically, when I arrive home, everyone is busy doing homework and I am busy with tasks, such as getting dinner ready and checking the mail.
After dinner we begin to wind down for the day, and everyone is more at ease and receptive.
Try to set aside thirty minutes before you retire to bed to ask your teens about their day-topics such as what's going on during the week, if they need anything for school projects and how their studying is going.
Make time to listen.
5.
Talk about shared responsibility (give and take): A major complaint I hear a lot from parents is, "My teens don't do anything around the house but eat and sleep. I can't even get them to clean their room.
" How do you get your teens to chip in and help out around the house? The answer to that question lies in having a discussion with your teens about shared responsibility and "give and take.
" Teens need to understand that all relationships are based on give and take by both parties.
If one person is always giving and the other is always taking, that relationship is unhealthy and doomed to fail. Remind your teens that as parents you provide food, shelter, transportation, funding for clothes and extra-curricular activities and much more.
Then ask your teen the two-million-dollar question: How can you contribute to and share responsibility in this family unit? If your question is asked in the right tone, your teen should have an "aha" moment! Wait for an answer; it will come.
Your teen will realize that cleaning his or her room is not such a big deal, and that doing dishes or throwing out the garbage is nothing compared to the monumental responsibility that a parent or guardian has to care for a child. As you prepare your teens for adulthood, teach them how to share in the responsibility of maintaining their home so that they will have pride in where they live and learn valuable life skills at the same time.
6. Share your stories: You were a teen once. Tell your teens about your hopes, dreams, successes and failures, so that they get to know you as a person-and call you a friend one day, as well as a parent.
By sharing stories, you break down barriers so that your teen sees you as a person, not just a parent. Be open and share your wisdom, after all, you're at least twice their age-that's a lot of experience and wisdom to offer.
One day when you teens grow up and have children of their own, those stories of "grandpa and grandma" will be carried on to the next generation!

High School Bullying - How to Avoid It
Bullying is not uncommon in high school.
Kids who are small, skinny, short or fat are usually the target of bullying.
If you become a victim of bullying, there are some factors which you need to bear in mind. Among these is the fact that most bullying take place because bullies are confident with their assumption that you don't have the guts to fight back.
Bullies, in fact, are cowardly that's why they prefer to pick on weak targets. So, if you become a victim of bullying, you can do a couple of things to prevent this from happening.
Listed below are your choices to fight school bullying: Inform your teacher. Though this might seem like a sound advice against bullying, there's not a lot that your teacher can do to stop the bullies and protect you.
However, no matter how much they want to stop bullying altogether, most schools have a policy which prevents the teacher to touch the school bullies; the only thing they can do is reprimand the bully not to hit you again.
This doesn't seem like a great help to you when the bullies keep on pushing you around. In this case, you have to learn to stand for yourself to protect yourself from bullying. Inform your parents. You can't keep the incident of bullying to yourself, it's always better to share it to someone who has the power to do something about the situation.
It's the natural instinct of parents to protect their kids. In most cases, once you inform your parents about the bullies, they would contact the parents of your aggressor. It won't be a surprise if the parents of the bullies would deny that their kids could do such a thing. But the point here is for the incident to be brought to the attention of both parents, which is a good thing.

What Is the Best Way to Learn Spanish for Children?
Learning through context is the best way to learn to learn Spanish.
Young children learn through context - a capacity that you want to encourage and which we older learners need to develop.
What is learning through context? It means figuring out what is being said by paying attention to all of the clues. You may not understand every word in a phrase, but follow the conversation, look at the situation and make deductions. Spanish videos and dvds are a great tool to learn Spanish for kids - and are useful for adults as well, because of the opportunity to hear Spanish and decipher what is going on from the context.
Watch the same videos over and over and you, as well as your child, will understand more each time.

Spanish Storytime Reading Spanish stories is another excellent method to provide learning through context. 7 Tips: Is an Online Sonography Program Right for You?
The students choosing to earn a degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography by the end of 2014 are looking ahead to a rewarding career in a health sciences field that is only expected to grow with the rollout of the national health care system.
Though there are many schools offering accredited programs in sonography, not everyone can attend a campus-based school for many different reasons.
In that case, potential students must ask themselves if attending one of the online ultrasound tech programs is a quality alternative. Taking Everything into Consideration There are many factors to consider, including the following: 1.
It is important to attend an online program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), which may not be offered at a local university, community college, or medical center. Since many employers are requiring a degree earned at a CAAHEP accredited program, attending an online CAAHEP accredited sonography program is an excellent alternative. 2.
The cost of attending an institution of higher education or completing a program at a medical center, for the purpose of obtaining a certificate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a desired degree, can be an expensive proposition. The degree options include an Associate's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Schooling can be especially expensive if it is necessary to choose an out-of-state school in order to attend a CAAHEP accredited sonography program.
Attending an online school can be an affordable option.
There is financial aid available for all sonography students.
Scholarships are an ideal funding source because the money does not need to be repaid. Students who have chosen a program can also discuss financial aid options with the school's financial aid advisor. There are many types of financial aid that include grants, scholarships and loans.
3. Attending an online program requires having access to the right technology and being comfortable using it.
Each online distance education program has unique requirements, and they all require reliable high-speed internet access for a smooth learning experience.
It is advisable to review the computer hardware and software requirements and the internet speed requirements before deciding whether online schooling is a good option.
4. Earning a degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography requires completing coursework that has a heavy emphasis in science and technology.
Sonography is only a good choice if these kinds of topics are of interest. 5. There are 9 ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) credentialing exams that recognize general and specialty skills. The three CAAHEP accredited online programs include all possible concentrations, but not each school offers every concentration. For example, only the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee offers a concentration in pediatric cardiac. However, this is also the same school that requires relocating to complete the clinical training at one of the university's facilities.
When considering online programs, it is important to balance all factors.
6.
The CAAHEP accredited online Diagnostic Medical Sonography programs are ideal for those who need to study at home.
Usually, these include people who are caring for families or working part-time. As long as the clinical component can be completed, the online programs are an excellent option. 7.
Distance education learners must be self-motivated and disciplined enough to set aside the space and time needed to succeed.
Online learning is not for everyone. It requires outstanding time management skills.
Any who is the type of learner who needs face-to-face interaction with faculty and fellow students will not enjoy online sonography training because all personal contact is made online using software.
In most areas, sonographers are compensated well for their training, experience and credentialing.
The job outlook is excellent with the Department of Labor predicting a 44 percent growth in the number of jobs between 2010 and 2020, which is much faster than the average for other positions.

Cloud Computing Internet Providers Reviews
Many agencies have realized the potential of Cloud Computing Internet providers as they make flexible Information Communication Technology resources readily available to them for use.
This involves the delivery of storage capacity and storage as a service to a larger society of end-recipients. The service providers exempt organizations from having to cater for the expenses of laying down infrastructures typically related to ICT resources.
What makes this interesting and ideal for any company is that all their files have third party storage.
Using software as a service, as user will only rent a database and application package of their choice.
The work of managing the infrastructure and the platforms wholly belongs to the Cloud Computing Internet providers. With quality management and little maintenance requirements, this system enable Information and Communication Technology to change rapidly, thus adjusting resources in a manner that meets the unknown and fluctuating business demands.
The provider allows easy sharing of resources in order to achieve equal economies of scale.
The amount of space provided for the service is limitless but can be quite expensive. This service helps a great deal in organizations, universities and other dynamic entities.
Since there are immense services available on demand, it offers one a chance to ensure that the cost of running their activities is as low as possible and still, the services offered remain on demand.
The cost of administration and time to access data significantly reduces as one can easily retrieve data without the need of the assistance of another individual or group of persons.
However, one must first ensure they have a network access from any place, no matter where they are. This means that as a user, you must have internet access to be able to access your Cloud Computing network without which it is practically impossible.
Cloud providers also ensure that there is effective resource pulling, which assist in keeping the cost to run the systems low while at the same time, providing the required resources to the users.
This act enables different users to tap resources in a disk space at a particular time. In case there is an inactive use on the disk space, the professional can free up the resources from the inactive user and allow the active user to make use of them.
This mechanism is beneficial to any business, whether it is a small business, an upcoming business or an enterprise that has been in the market for a long time. It assists these businesses to store data and host their personal software instead of using their own servers, which are expensive to buy and maintain.
With this, it is easy to allocate more resources to hinder downtime.
